KENNEY & DNC OFFICIALS: DON’T LEAVE DURING THE CONVENTION, GUYS!
Did you take a #popecation? Mayor Jim Kenney is hoping you won’t make similar plans during the DNC. “We don’t want people to go to the Jersey Shore or the mountains. Be a part of this,” the mayor said at a presser yesterday. Last year during the papal visit, city streets were so empty that comparisons were made to The Walking Dead, as you may recall. “We need Philadelphia residents and people who work downtown to sell Philadelphia,” Kenney said. “Stay home and show off.”
WATCH: VIDEO OF WHEN THE SEPTA BUS MET THE CYCLIST
Did the SEPTA bus driver give a cyclist who blocked the bus enough room as he passed him last Wednesday? You be the judge. SEPTA released a 30-minute video to Billy Penn, including several minutes of the bus driver’s route beforehand, the moments when the bus passed the cyclist and about 20 minutes of the man standing in the way of the bus on Locust Street. Watch, and decide.

It’s almost Copa América time. Now, as you may recall, we just had one last year. (Poor Messi, but yay Chile!) This special centennial edition will bring South America’s continental soccer championship to North America for the very first time. The tournament is otherwise keeping to its normal, every-fourth-year scheduling— this will be an extra, one-off chance to win the trophy. Here’s our delicious guide to the best restaurants in which you can watch the Copa (and, of course, eat).
