Good luck pork ‘n’ kraut to start the year right

Know how the PA Dutch consider pork and sauerkraut the must-eat dish on New Year's Day because it's said to bring luck for the year ahead? Well, they brought that tradition over from Germany. South Street's German beer hall is serving a special pork 'n' kraut platter (over mashed potatoes) all day long. Find glühwein and Eagles/Cowboys there, too.

Where: Brauhaus Schmitz at 718 South St. 19147

When: January 1, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

How much: $15 for a platter
