Rendell: Philly will bid to host both the Super Bowl and the MLB All-Star game in 2026

The push is part of the plan to be the official city of USA250, the semiquincentennial celebration of the nation’s founding. Though it’s still nine years away, planning has begun. In November 2016, Congress approved a law creating a new commission to facilitate everything, and the 33-member body will hold meetings at Independence Hall while seeking input from the public. There’s also an initiative called Food250, which is co-chaired by High Street’s Ellen Yin and Eli Kulp.
