See why making Japanese mochi treats is an artform
Right next to the Regional Rail station in Ardmore is a Japanese grocery and sushi counter, which is hosting a one-day "Mochitsuki Festival." Throughout the afternoon, experts will be demonstrating the traditional way of making the dessert called mochi, which is done by pounding sticky rice with a wooden mallet in a hollow tree trunk. Taste samples after each performance and even try your hand at it.
