FINALLY: THIS SUMMER, WATER TAXIS WILL TAKE TO THE DELAWARE
It’s been more than a decade since the Delaware River Waterfront Corp. purchased three boats to be used as taxis to shuttle people up and down the river. Since they were bought in 2003, the 22-person boats have sat idle. But if all goes well with the Delaware River Port Authority, the Waterfront Corp. tells Billy Penn you’ll be able to finally ride in one of the city’s water taxis for the first time this summer.
CHESTNUT HILL: WHERE MAYORS AND COMCAST EXECS LIVE
Welcome to Chestnut Hill, the residential neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia where families have settled and made the area feel more like a suburb than a city. The neighborhood was at one time a summer vacation spot for Philadelphia’s affluent residents, but is now one of the richest zip codes in Philly, second only to Society Hill. In the latest post in our Neighborhoods project, learn more about the home of at least two former mayors, a mansion where Jodie Foster swam and the home of the real James Bond.

WELCOME TO THE BILLY PENN STORE
Billy Penn is proud to announce its first-ever dog hoodie! We’re actually not kidding. The dog hoodie is just one of many items available now in our CafePress store, where you can also buy T-shirts, phone cases, magnets and all that other stuff you don’t really need but kinda want. You can also shop by neighborhood to get swag that matches those beautiful postcards our designer, Jayna Wallace, has been making every week. Our neighborhoods coverage will continue to expand, so if you don’t see coverage or T-shirts from your ‘hood yet, hang in there.
