Back in November, the city announced it would be selling keepsakes made of reclaimed LOVE Park granite. People lined up by the hundreds for a chance to score one, only to have the sale called off at the last minute. This week, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation sent out an email update confirming gifters' worst fears: the collectibles will definitely not be available in time for Christmas. It's a copyright issue, a spokesperson confirmed to Billy Penn, noting that the city Law Department is currently negotiating for permission.
SEPTA is phasing out token sales. About half the vending machines along the Market-Frankford and Broad Street lines have already been removed.
