EX-DA EXPLAINS WHY HE NEVER PROSECUTED COSBY
“It was better for justice,” was how Bruce Castor explained why he decided not to prosecute Bill Cosby in 2005. Castor was Montgomery County District Attorney at the time, and former Temple University employee Andrea Constand had accused the comedian of sexual assault at his MontCo home. Rather than risk Cosby taking the fifth during civil deposition, Castor says he made a deal not to prosecutor thinking it was the best case scenario for Constand. He explained this decision and how he believes it stands for all of Pennsylvania for all of time in detail during Tuesday’s hearing. The hearing resumes today at 9:30, and Judge Steven O’Neil expects to make a ruling.
KATIE MCGINTY, FROM RHAWNHURST TO THE SENATE TRAIL
After Katie McGinty graduated Columbia University law, she had job offers to make six figures at some of the top firms in the country, from New York to San Francisco. She stunned her parents by moving to a clerkship in Washington, D.C. instead — setting the Rhawnhurst native on a path to campaign against two others right now for the right to face incumbent GOP Sen. Pat Toomey this fall. Here’s our profile of the Philly Democrat as the race ramps up.

LEGENDARY VILLANOVA BASKETBALL COACH MASSIMINO SPEAKS
Rollie Massimino moved to Florida for the golf. The legendary Villanova basketball coach who led the Wildcats from 1973 to 1992 and won a national title envisioned South Florida the way so many others do: A place to retire. And while he’s too old to golf anymore, Massimino is working the hardwood again. We caught up and asked about college athletes turning pro, and how often he talks to current ‘Nova head coach Jay Wright.
HELP US PICK THE ULTIMATE PHILLY SANDWICH
Philly, we have a reputation to uphold. We’re really good at sandwiches. There’s almost an embarrassment of riches, really. But we love brackets around here. So with the help of Yards Brewing, we’re working on a way to name the Ultimate Philly Sandwich. (NOTE: We’re not including cheesesteaks, hot dogs or burgers; they’ll get their own day in the sun.) So check out our “regions” and our seeds, and vote in Round 1. We’ll count ’em till Friday.
