Put the list of candidates running to replace Seth Williams as Philly's District Attorney at five. Former ADA Michael Untermeyer, who ran against Williams as a Republican in 2009, announced his candidacy as a Democratic nominee on Monday. Then Beth Grossman, who joined the DA's office under Lynne Abraham in 1993 and worked there for 21 years, threw her hat into the ring as a Republican. The two join former Philly Managing Director Rich Negrin, former ADA Joe Khan and Municipal Court Judge Teresa Carr Deni in the hottest race in town.
Penn State was down 13-0 to USC after the first quarter of the Rose Bowl, but a wild second had the Nittany Lions back in the game by halftime, trailing 27-21. Anyone who watched Penn State this year knew what was coming, as the second-half giants rolled out of the break with a flurry of touchdowns and turnovers and more touchdowns to take a 42-27 lead less than five minutes into the half. After swapping scores to end the third, the fourth quarter belonged to USC, scoring 17 straight points, including a game-tying touchdown on a 3-play, 80 yard drive with a minute to go in the game. After forcing a horrible interception by Penn State quarterback Trace McSorely in the waning seconds of regulation, USC hit a game-winning 46-yard field goal in one of the most dramatic finishes in Rose Bowl history, dropping Pennsylvania to 0-3 in bowl games this year.
Did you catch the giant poop in a toilet at the Mummer's Parade (our IG of the day yesterday)? The woman inside was Leslie Rogers, a post-doc fellow at the University of Michigan who said the, uh, float was a criticism of the Mummers' institution, suggesting that TV cut away because "they were censoring it." Philly Mag's Victor Fiorillo talked to Rogers and got the poop scoop.

The Eagles finished the season 7-9, so how would you rate the first-year head coach and quarterback? No matter how we choose to look back on 2016, it's important for disgruntled Eagles fans to remember this: Carson Wentz wasn't even going to play this year until Sam Bradford got traded just before the season began. We've been a little hard on Wentz much of the second half this season, and certainly harder on Doug Pederson for some of his gameday decisions. But now that the season is over, how did they really do this year? Check out our rookie grades for each, which might surprise you.
