GENO’S STEAKS IS OPENING A SECOND LOCATION AT XFINITY LIVE
Outfitted with a giant neon sign and orange and white tiling reminiscent of the original, the new Geno’s cheesesteak counter will be just off the Pattison Avenue entrance to the “Philly MarketPlace” central courtyard, right next to the Victory Beer Hall. The menu will be simple: cheesesteaks with choice of Whiz, American or provolone, with or without onions. Opening is targeted for Sept. 20, the date of the Eagles’ first home game of the regular NFL season — against longtime rivals Dallas Cowboys. It’s big news for owner Geno Vento, who after losing 100 pounds is also one of the Daily News’ sexy singles. And that supposed feud with Pat’s? Vento opens up about how it’s a complete myth.

Though violent crime overall this year has been down and Philadelphia this summer is nowhere near its record 2007 totals for homicides, here’s why July was a particularly violent month.

He may or may not have met his demise in a toilet at the Miami airport en route to Ecuador. We think it’s about time he toured some of Philly’s finest art. Check out these seven photos of a miniature Billy Penn with famous city monuments and paintings.
PAPAL SWAG: ALL ABOUT FRANCIS’ $300K POPEMOBILE AND SHEPHERD ONE PLANE
Pope Francis is known as the people’s pope. When he was a Cardinal in Argentina, he rode the bus to work and as pope has continued to advocate for the poor while eschewing many of the luxuries afforded past popes. Still, he gets to have some really cool things, and when he comes to Philadelphia we’ll get to see him using some of them. Here’s a rundown of six accessories used by Pope Francis, from the Popemobile to the Pope plane to the Pope watch.
