COMING TO FORBES UNDER 30: SARA BAREILLES, STAR WARS DROID
When the Forbes Under 30 Summit returns to Philadelphia this fall, the droid from the new Star Wars movie and the under-30-year-olds who designed it will be coming, too. Randall Lane, Forbes’ editor-in-chief, told Billy Penn they will be speakers at the Oct. 4-7 event. Sara Bareilles will speak as well, and the Sixers will be involved as partners for the summit. Lane said more speakers and performers would be announced in the coming weeks and months as the event gets closer. Lane said that when all the speakers and guests had been announced the Forbes Under 30 Summit would live up to last year’s, which was highlighted by a speech from Monica Lewinsky. And he also says the event could become for Philly what South by Southwest is for Austin.

Others refer to him as the Jiro of Pizza. And while the joint at East Girard Avenue and Shackamaxon Street has a 4.5 star rating on Yelp and 111 reviews, there seem to be at least a handful of people who can’t deal with the hassle and price that might come along with eating there. Here’s some of the best of what they had to say.

HAPLESS PHILLIES ARE MLB’S WORST, AND CHIP KELLY HAS RENTER PROBZ
Jim Kenney got flack from Twitter trolls for suggesting the Phillies basically wipe out their roster and start again. So maybe the Democratic candidate for mayor ought to read this guide to Philadelphia sports for people who don’t know anything about sports. This month, we cover the #LOLSixers’ goal to draft another person who won’t be able to play basketball for them, the Phillies’ nepotism and the reason why Chip Kelly is just like us regular folk.
NORTHERN LIBERTIES, FROM EDGAR ALLAN POE TO THE PIAZZA
Welcome to Northern Liberties, the neighborhood northeast of Old City that’s become ground zero for the real estate boom in the last decade. Once a home to “lowlifes” and Edgar Allan Poe, then a manufacturing hub, NoLibs was hit hard in the mid-20th century when factories and plants shut down or moved locations. But a few decades later, Northern Liberties is now one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Philadelphia after a few housing booms and some determined developers took the neighborhood to a new place. As the next stop on our Neighborhoods Project, check out our look at Northern Liberties.
