KATHLEEN KANE’S TWIN TELLS THE FEDS HER SISTER IS UNDERPAYING HER
Remember Ellen Granahan? That’s Kathleen Kane’s twin sister, the one she used as a decoy a few months back to fool photographers at her preliminary hearing last year? (Mems!) Well, Granahan — who, The Morning Call notes, was responsible for 6 out of 281 cases (a whopping 2 percent) during her time running the office’s child predator section — says she’s… underpaid. Yes, according to a complaint Granahan filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, her $88,509 salary is 17 to 37 percent lower than what agency lawyers with similar titles earn. So naturally she took the case to the feds.
GUESS WHO MIGHT PAY IF THE DNC CAN’T RAISE THE $?
If the Democratic National Convention Host Committee can’t raise the up-to-$10 million it’s still seeking, taxpayer dollars could fill that gap. The Host Committee, a nonprofit charged with fundraising to pull off July’s enormous political soiree in Philadelphia, is short on cash. After over a year of radio silence on its fundraising progress, former Governor and current Host Committee chairman Ed Rendell suddenly broke the news last week: Approximately $55 million has been raised largely in corporate contributions, although there is no way to independently verify that figure at present. Here’s why Philadelphians could be on the hook if the money isn’t raised.

‘FAN’ WHO TOSSED A BOTTLE AT RYAN HOWARD? AN IDIOT; DON’T BE ONE TOO
Some idiot thought he had the right to throw a bottle at Ryan Howard on Saturday night. On Sunday, Howard told reporters, “I’ve done too much in this town to have that kind of stuff. If you want to yell out ‘You suck,’ that’s whatever. But when you start throwing stuff, that’s when stuff gets personal… To me, that’s crossing the line. It becomes a security issue. It’s not necessary. That stuff infuriates me.” It goes without saying that Howard is right, both about how he deserves better treatment after all he’s done, and that an incident like this is a huge issue with security. This isn’t a conversation we should be having in 2016.
