A University of Oklahoma student helped create the racist GroupMe thread that circulated late last week, sending Penn freshmen of color messages about “n---er lynching.” The investigation hasn’t yet found the connection between the two other people involved, but what is clear is that no Penn students were involved in creating the thread. Sunday marked the fifth straight day of peaceful protests in Center City following Donald Trump’s election, and the Equality Coalition has no plans to stop. Yesterday’s crowd of 1,000 walked from Broad and JFK to Independence Hall and back again in solidarity with the groups — people of color, transgender people, women, immigrants, to name a few — the president-elect has spoken out against during his campaign. Organizers say they plan to protest nightly leading up to the inauguration.
