VILLANOVA FRESHMAN ARRESTED ON LSD CHARGES AFTER ‘OVERDOSES’
A Villanova freshman has been jailed and is now facing expulsion for charges of dealing LSD from his dorm room. Police say 18-year-old Justin Yim had 37 doses of the drug, as well as marijuana and $9,000 in cash. Officials said three students at the Main Line university “overdosed” on the drug; that’s kind of impossible. But 19-year-old Daniel Jin definitely seemed to be having a bad trip. He’s been charged with assault for allegedly walking into a “facility” on campus and assaulting a woman there, then assaulting police when they showed up. A total of three students were taken to Bryn Mawr hospital after admitting they used the drug. All have been released.
PA SENATE RACE KEY TO RE-STOCKING SUPREME COURT
Get used to hearing Republican Senator Pat Toomey’s name. The unexpected death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on Saturday sent Washington and the battle for the White House into a frenzy over the politics of deciding his replacement, and soon enough the political battle over his seat could lead to a deluge of political ad spending in the Keystone State. In short, it’s a big deal — here’s why.

HOW CITY HALL IS DRAGGING ITS TECH INTO THE 21ST CENTURY
A little more than three years ago, City Hall and nearly every one of its offices didn’t even have WiFi, and that was the least of their technological worries. When deputy chief information officer Ray Hayling was hired in 2012, he and the Office of Innovation and Technology were tasked with fixing a problem much, much larger. They had to replace the entire network. It’s one small part of a modernizing wave that includes moving off Blackberries and into slightly less outdated hardware and software.
THE ULTIMATE PHILLY SANDWICH ELITE 8 ROUND
After tallying in-person and digital votes as we seek the Ultimate Philly Sandwich, we could stop right here — this Elite Eight would basically crush any other city’s offerings. But we can’t stop yet, because there are more decisions to be made. Important decisions. Can John’s Roast Pork knock off consistently highest vote-getter DiNic’s? (Can anyone, for that matter?) What of the old-school/new-school battle between FedNuts fried chix and McNally’s Schmitter? Then there’s the question about the fans who came out in droves for both Ricci’s and Sarcone’s on the hoagie side, and the situation that pits Chickie’s veg hoagie against the always-popular Mama’s falafel. The time to make your voice heard is now. Vote early, vote often, but above all — vote.
