ANTI-GUN REFORM BILL, PREVIOUSLY THROWN OUT IN COURT, RETURNS TO PA HOUSE
The Commonwealth Court found a certain gun-rights bill unconstitutional last year. It would’ve allowed residents to sue local jurisdictions that pass tougher gun laws than the state. This bill is making its comeback, though. NewsWorks reports that the measure has been reintroduced “in nearly identical form” and that it might make it to the floor as early as October.
PHILLY MAYOR: REP. WHITE’S SANCTUARY CITIES BILL IS ‘DANGEROUS’
Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney blasted a bill moving through the legislature that would impact the city’s “sanctuary city” status today, calling it a political “dog-whistle” and saying he questioned a state representative’s understanding of the law. A bill introduced by Northeast Philadelphia Republican Rep. Martina White passed through the state House’s Committee on State Government Tuesday. It takes aim at Kenney’s sanctuary city policy which dictates that the city won’t comply with hold requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, unless the person was charged with a violent crime. Here’s why Kenney took aim at the measure, and what White said in response.
PARKING AUTHORITY CHIEF DISCIPLINED AFTER SEXUAL HARASSMENT INVESTIGATION. HE STILL WORKS THERE THO.
PPA ED Vince Fenerty has fewer responsibilities these days. After a sexual harassment investigation, Fenerty can’t hire anyone else; he can’t give anybody a raise; he can’t travel with employees anymore if the trip includes overnight stays, plus he can’t fire anyone either. But he still makes 223k. Here’s more on what the investigation found.
HAS THIS STATE REP. REALLY PASSED MORE BILLS THAN EVERY DEM COMBINED?
State Rep. John Taylor told City & State PA last week he’s done something that makes him stand out even more among Philadelphia’s politicians: “In Harrisburg, I passed more bills than all the Democrats combined, in terms of legislation affecting the city.” We’re talking about one representative versus 23 Democratic representatives. Could he really have passed more bills than all of them combined? It turns out that yeah, he did.

REGGIE WHITE V. BRIAN DAWKINS: THE ULTIMATE EAGLES FINAL CHOICE
Nearly 1,500 men have worn Eagles green (of some shade and hue) over the last 80-plus years. When we began our Ultimate Philadelphia Eagles tournament, we narrowed that list to 32, broken into offense and defense of the current era, and those of generations past. That was all a waste of time, because it was clear from the start who would be in the finals. The Championship. The Ultimate Philadelphia Eagles player. It was never not going to be one of these two men, and for the first head-to-head vote in this entire bracket, we have no idea who will win it. Brian Dawkins. Reggie White. Go. Vote.
10 PHILLY LACROIX FLAVORS YOU PROBABLY DON’T WANNA TASTE
We had some fun with the website MyLaCroix, where fans of the beverage can create their own customized soda can designs to go with the flavor of their choice. The site is clear: they are not affiliated with the sparkling water brand. Still, it is fun to imagine some
delicious unique flavors they haven’t yet decided to produce. Or, as it were, it’s fun to imagine what Philly flavors would taste like. So we did it.
