Banh Mi + Bottles has opened for business — and it’s much more impressive than anyone thought. First there's the menu of Vietnamese food that owner Tuan Phung, whose family runs Pho Ha, designed to be both authentic and accessible. Then there's the huge beer selection, top-notch cocktails at reasonable prices and unique wines. The GM calls it "the best bar in Philly right now." He could be right.
Sorry, tourists: In Round 2 of our bracket, Pat's Steaks lost to Tony Luke's, which leaves the field entirely free of "Cheesesteak Vegas" representation. (Geno's was kicked out in Round 1.) For the record: In 2016, Marc Vetri does not hate Restaurant Week. Sure, there was that screed he put up on Facebook four years ago, in which he told prospective RWers that the "deal you think you're getting is non-existent." Over time his dislike for the promotion became almost canon. But this year, two Vetri Family restaurants are participating — here's why.
