Last week, Triple Bottom Brewing exceeded its Indiegogo goal, making it a sure thing the brewery will have the funds it needs to set up shop somewhere in Philly. When it does, the facility will be a combined brewhouse and taproom — and also have a washer and dryer. No, that has nothing to do with making beer. It has everything to do with helping equip employees with tools to make their own lives better. It's all part of Triple Bottom's "people, planet, profit" social justice mission.
Last week, the PA Dept. of State officially certified the results of this contentious presidential election, and on Monday, members of Pennsylvania's electoral college will gather in Harrisburg to cast the votes that actually, finally, irrevocably determine who will assume the office. And despite the thousands of calls, letters and emails they've been receiving each day pleading for them to assign their votes elsewhere, the 20 electors for Trump are standing fast. "I will not change my mind," one told the Inquirer. Said another: "They lost. They ought to get over that."
