Road closures begin today for the NFL Draft. Yes, the actual draft is still more than two weeks away. All told, Philly is looking at nearly a month's worth of street closures and detours for the three-day event on the Parkway. Starting today, Spring Garden is closed at Pennsylvania Avenue. The westbound center roadway of Benjamin Franklin Parkway will maintain two lanes from 20th Street to Eakins Oval. And that's not all. Get the full list of closures here.
United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776 Prez Wendell Young estimated that 2,000 new liquor stores could be opened in the state if a proposed liquor code update passed. Pennsylvania only has 608 state stores right now, so would the bill, HB 991, really allow for a nearly 330-percent increase? We checked Young's math and spoke with the bill’s sponsor.

CookNSolo got its start there, and so did Rival Bros Coffee. The current 29-year-old owners, who are opening Talk in Rittenhouse later this year, are planning to be the next success story to come out of the West Philly BYOB.
Food historian Dr. William Woys Weaver knows just about everything there is to know about the local farm ecosystem, and how its rich bounty has informed the cuisine of the Philly region and America in general. Attendees will also receive a packet of seeds from Weaver's heirloom Roughwood Seed Collection.

Inside those Easter eggs? Mostly Keller’s coupons (one can never have enough butter) and Easter candy. But inside 50 ~special~ eggs will be a $100 gift card “to purchase Easter dinner groceries from a local retailer.” More details here.
Is Dogfish Head the best brewery in the United States? After more than 10,000 votes, Sam Calagione's unorthodox Delaware beermaker emerged victorious in our Beer Madness bracket. It wasn't easy to take the title: Finalist Victory Brewing put up a good fight -- and was even ahead for a while. But then Calagione dropped a Rocky video, and everything changed.
