HOME INTERNET CUT OFF FOR JUDGE WHO’S SUSPENDED BECAUSE EMAIL PORN
Seamus McCaffery, the state Supreme Court justice who’s been suspended from the bench after the revelation that he sent or viewed more than 200 pornographic emails, has been kicked off the Internet, too. The Inquirer says Pennsylvania has paid around $7,500 for McCaffery’s North Philadelphia home to get Comcastic internet service since 2008, which he’ll lose this week. Money quote in the story: “You’re not supposed to be using court resources to be sending pornography. It’s as simple as that,” Chief Justice (and McCaffery critic) Ron Castille said, presumably in an incredibly condescending voice.
16-MINUTE CHEVY COMMERCIAL STARS MO’NE DAVIS
It turns out that Spike Lee joint featuring Mo’Ne Davis everyone was all excited about a couple of weeks ago wasn’t really a “documentary” per se. It was a car commercial. Well, a 16-minute inspirational story, yes, but at the end (SPOILER ALERT) she jumps out of a Chevy Malibu. In case you’re curious, though, she didn’t break any NCAA eligibility rules.
CRAZY ADS, DEBATE GAFFES & PORNY EMAILS: THE PA GOV RACE SO FAR
Tom Wolf (he’s the Democrat; you may have heard he drives a Jeep) has led the gubernatorial race in the polls since the primary election — seriously at this point, it’s not even close. Tom Corbett, our incumbent Republican governor, is still trying to keep his job. But the potential blowout still had its fair share of noteworthy moments — with two weeks to go before the general election, Billy Penn looks back at the most memorable ads, gaffes, and those filthy porny emails.

DATA MAPPING COULD MAKE PHILLY’S PLAYGROUNDS MORE PLAYABLE
Everyone knows Philadelphia’s parks and playgrounds could use a refresh. But getting started was a daunting task, so the city’s Community Design Collaborative hooked up with local data firm Azavea to use data mapping software. That analysis combined a walkability analysis, street, sidewalk and highway data, socioeconomic and open space data, and out popped a list of results. But, the project managers stress, what’s needed is still a “human element” — who’s going to take care of the space?
10 SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT WILLIAM PENN
We thought we’d take a look back about our namesake, and we were surprised by what we found. Call it the Legend of Billy Penn: Dude smiled only once in his life. Also he nearly killed a street brawler in Paris, but he walked away. Did you know Billy got kicked out of Oxford as an undergrad? He’s more street than you realize.
