THE PORNY EMAILS RETURN: 31 IN KANE’S OFFICE DISCIPLINED, 6 TO BE FIRED
Pennsylvania’s pornographic email scandal, by the numbers: Five resignations, one “retirement.” Then, yesterday, an update from Attorney General Kathleen Kane: four more have been fired, two will be fired; another two who resigned, 11 have been suspended without pay, and others were being disciplined or reprimanded in their personnel file. Kane counted 31 disciplined in the sweep… of her own office. These employees (who get paid through your taxes!) sent the messages starting in early 2013, after Kane got there and took a look at how people were using state-issued computers. (Just imagine what an audit of every state department would show…)
MAN ACCUSED OF GERMANTOWN ABDUCTION GETS (BRIEF) DAY IN COURT
Delvin Barnes, the 37-year-old man charged with grabbing Carlesha Freeland-Gaither from a Germantown street and stuffing her into a car, made a brief appearance in federal court Wednesday. He needed a lawyer, and the court gave him a pair: Nina Spizer and Elizabeth Topler, both of the Federal Community Defender Office, will represent Barnes in his next appearance. That will come Friday, when a federal judge will decide whether bail will be set in the case that made local and national headlines.

PHILLY MAN SEEKS $1K TO BUILD ACTUAL BATMAN DON’T-CALL-IT-A-COSTUME
All Jackson Gordon needs is $1,000. So the Philadelphia University student took to Kickstarter with his plea. Why? To build a Batsuit. Not a costume; not latex. No, a real suit of combat armor, Christopher Nolan-on-Christian-Bale-style. It ain’t bullet-proof; the goal is for it to stand up to a pretty good fight, though. From the description: rather towards hand to hand combat and weapon defense against bats, knifes, and other club like objects. Cool. (Via PhillyMag)
TURKEY DAY: WHERE TO BUY A BIRD (OR THE WHOLE MEAL) FROM THE PROS
Let’s say you show up the family with a 15-lb smoked turkey from Percy Street BBQ, or maybe a bunch of off-the-wall prepared sides from Di Bruno Bros. And you could finish the meal with a ridiculous pie from Linvilla Orchards out in Media — you’ll be the talk of the family for years. (Bonus: More time to watch the parades!) PhillyMag’s Foobooz lists local options to make the big day a breeze.
