FOURTH NIGHT OF PROTESTS IS MILITANT BUT NONVIOLENT
People enraged by what they see as endemic racism among U.S. police forces headed to the 24th and 25th police district headquarters in Feltonville last night. With chants of “F— the police!”, protesters faced off with a line of officers guarding the building. Tensions were high, but no violence broke out, and there were no arrests. In fact, NBC10 reports, a teen who spraypainted “F— the police” on a local business was encouraged to meet with the shop owner, and eventually agreed to clean it up.
PHILLY PERSONAL TRAINING STARTUP SET TO BRING IN $750K IN FIRST YEAR
In the sharing economy, personal trainers are for everyone. At least, they are in Philly, thanks to a local startup called WeTrain. The Wharton-incubator-inspired company is growing fast, with good reason. We know, because Billy Penn’s Danya Henninger tried it — and it whupped her butt.
WHY FISHTOWN’S NEW PUNCH LINE COMEDY CLUB IS PERFECT FOR PHILLY
Philadelphians love to laugh — that’s what pro comedians say, anyway — but compared to other cities, there’s a scarcity of comedy clubs here. This weekend, the scene took a big leap forward with the grand opening of Punch Line in Fishtown. Located directly across from the Fillmore, the venue takes comedy club to a whole new level.
