WANNA REVITALIZE A NEIGHBORHOOD? START WITH IMPLODING THE PROJECTS
By imploding the two 18-story Blumberg Apartment towers this morning (video here), the Philadelphia Housing Authority took a major step in its unloved-by-Inga-Saffron plan to revitalize North Philly’s Sharswood neighborhood, which is getting hemmed in by gentrification. The idea is to reduce blight, then build back up.
