WILL THE NFL DRAFT BE A MONEYMAKER FOR PHILLY?
Philly will host the 2017 NFL Draft, with a big announcement at City Hall today making it official. How much will the draft cost the city, and will Philadelphia get a return on that investment? Chicago, which hosted the last two NFL Drafts, claims they did, with $81.6 total economic impact and nearly $44 million in direct economic impact to the city. Can Philly expect that kind of windfall, and how much might it cost to get there? We dig into Chicago’s fuzzy math, to figure out what Philly should expect.
PHILLY MIGHT LET A 3RD PARTY ENFORCE BROKEN TOWING LAWS
Enforcing sketchy (and possibly illegal) towing schemes in Philly is tough. The problem is proof. Despite an extensive set of regulations and set punishments for violations, authorities have difficulty proving wrongdoing. Incidents often come down to a ‘he said, she said’ — and a fight with a tow company is usually more trouble than it’s worth for vehicle owners who just want their car back with the least amount of complication. But Philadelphia might finally have a way to change that.

(So yes, for those of you asking, PCH is actually real. And it’s still giving away cash on television.) Here’s what it was like.

VOTE IN OUR THE ULTIMATE EAGLES BRACKET’S SWEET 16
Our Ultimate Philadelphia Eagles bracket has now been cut in half. We started with 32 all-time players and are now down to a pretty sweet 16. Through the first round of voting, there weren’t a ton of upsets and, really, there weren’t too many close decisions. We run through which Eagle greats advanced to the next round, and set up this week’s Sweet 16 vote, which has some unbelievably tough decisions.
