"I love him." That's what ESPN's Matt Hasselbeck told us about Carson Wentz. The former Pro Bowl QB turned analyst is in town for Monday Night Football tonight and he said Wentz is his favorite quarterback in the league, as much for what he does on the field as who he is as a person. Hasselbeck broke down Wentz's game for us, calling him a Swiss Army knife at quarterback, who can truly do everything. Check out his in-depth breakdown of Wentz before tonight's game.
The NFL is rife with racial tension this year, focusing mostly on protests during the national anthem. But racism in the NFL is nothing new, and a group is planning to remind NFL fans of that before tonight's game at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles are playing the team from Washington, still called the 'Redskins' despite years of Native Americans calling for the name to change. A rally called "We Are a People, Not Your Mascot" is being held outside the stadium starting at 4:30 p.m.
Over the summer, when the chefs at posh Vetri restaurant Osteria invited kids from North Philly's Duckrey School to help revive their on-site garden, it was the first time many of the students had planted anything — ever. That didn't keep them from getting down and dirty with the seedlings, and when they returned this month, there was plenty to harvest. Chewing the raw herbs wasn't everyone's favorite ("Tastes gross!"), but using them to top pizza was definitely a hit. Here's how the innovative fresh food collaboration went down.
Halloween is just over a week away, so if you're in the market for an easy costume, check out our suggestions. Last week we debuted our cheap Philly costumes — from camel prom to Pat Toomey's answering machine — but one costume we might have to update already: Seth Williams. The embattled DA appeared on our list by wearing a suit, smoking a cigar and carrying a painting of yourself, free couch not included. But Williams might trade his business suit for an orange jumpsuit, as he'll learn how long he could spend in prison for bribery tomorrow. Prosecutors want a five-year sentence.
The outdoor beer garden beside the Ben Franklin Bridge is transforming into a "Hay Bar" for a week or two — as in, the bar will be actually made from bales of hay. There'll also be fire pits, spiked hot chocolate, mulled red wine, pumpkin spice cocktails, sweet potato poutine and FREE pumpkins that you can carve yourself (preferably before you have too many drinks).

If you're the kind of brown spirits drinker who avoids most of the flavored stuff trending these days (*cough* Fireball *cough*), don't let the concept of "honey whiskey" scare you off Batch 14. The newest limited-edition release from Pottstown's Manatawny Still Works is made with real-deal local honey, which gives it a floral nose and smooth start, but it still has a stiff backbone and sharp finish. Do note: If you're lucky enough to score a bottle, make sure you "Shake well."
