NEW PA BUDGET, SAME PARTISAN BICKERING
Tom Wolf unveiled his 2016-17 budget in an address to the state Assembly yesterday. Except he didn’t really talk about this year’s budget. He talked about last year’s budget, the one that still hasn’t been passed and is seven months late, and excoriated the Republicans for not compromising. Billy Penn highlighted the best insults made by Wolf and against Wolf afterwards. As for the possibility of an on-time 2016-17 budget? Don’t get your hopes up. Senate majority leader Jake Corman said to PennLive, “I don’t know where he thinks we go from here. I don’t know how he thinks that gets him votes in either caucus. My guess is today we are further away than we were in June of last year.”
EAGLE MYCHAL KENDRICKS WAS ALLEGEDLY CATFISHED BY SAME PERSON AS DIDDY
About a year ago, Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks got an email from an up-and-coming singer named Lucia Cole asking him to perform in her music video for $16,000. They later started having phone conversations. “She tried to make me feel for her,” Kendricks told Buzzfeed. Soon, he found out it was a scheme, and the person who tried to catfish him may have also contributed to the end of a longtime relationship between the rapper Diddy and R&B singer Cassie. It’s a weird story, and Kendricks gives it a Philadelphia twist.

BERNIE, HILLARY, MARCO, JEB: WHERE PHILLY’S SPENDING FOR 2016
Philadelphia is still a Hillary city. The latest campaign finance reports were released by the FEC last week, and, combined with quarterly reports from July and October, we can see who Philadelphia is digging on the Democratic and (less so, obviously) Republican sides. And while the city is definitely feeling the Bern more than it was six months ago, Hillary remains far ahead in terms of monetary support from individuals living in Philadelphia. Here’s a breakdown of how the remaining candidates rank and which ones have been gaining the most momentum. Oh, and Trump. It seems Philadelphia isn’t too fond of him.
ROUND 2: HELP PICK THE ULTIMATE PHILLY SANDWICH
After thousands of votes were cast in Round 1 of the Ultimate Philly Sandwich Bracket, there were very few upsets. In fact, most of the contests weren’t even close. As might be expected from reputation, DiNic’s pulled pork Italiano garnered the highest number of votes in total. The second-biggest vote-getter was also a classic — John’s Roast Pork — followed very closely by the city’s new darling, Federal Donuts. The only major upset came in the veggie category, where the No. 8 Blackbird cubano pretty much demolished No. 1 Fu-Wah tofu hoagie. Lots of big decisions loom in Round 2. Cast your vote now.
