First-ever Kwanzaa celebration at Boathouse Row
Boathouse Row will light up for Kwanzaa for the first time ever. MLK Drive will be closed to traffic between Eakins Oval and Sweet Briar Drive at 5 p.m., and a drum line procession from Paine’s Park to the Fish Ladder will begin soon after.

Boathouse Row is endangered because of low water levels: ‘It’s only going to get worse’
Hanukkah celebration on Boathouse Row
What better way to celebrate the Festival of Lights than to light up Boathouse Row? The iconic houses will glow white and blue in the shape of a menorah from Dec. 12 - Dec. 19, and the week begins with traditional songs and prayers at the Fairmount Fish Ladder.
