District Attorney Seth Williams was charged March 21 with bribery, extortion and wire fraud after federal investigators alleged Williams was involved in at least three illegal schemes that benefited his own financial interests.
The feds say he took a car, fancy trips and tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for favors.
Legendary defense lawyer Dick Sprague is also involved in the post-indictment effort.
What he accepted, per the feds: A car, all-expense-paid trips, and thousands in cash and checks.
His office is recommending life without the possibility of parole for three people convicted as teenagers.
