51st annual Kwanzaa Celebration in West Philly

The Kwanzaa Cooperative, The National Association of Kawaida Organizations and the Black Writers Museum host their annual celebration of the winter holiday with a candle lighting ceremony, a kids area, live entertainment, market vendors and speakers. This year's talks will be led by Dr. Marc Lamont Hill and Dr. Segun Shabaka.

Holidays in Philly

First-ever Kwanzaa celebration at Boathouse Row

Boathouse Row will light up for Kwanzaa for the first time ever. MLK Drive will be closed to traffic between Eakins Oval and Sweet Briar Drive at 5 p.m., and a drum line procession from Paine’s Park to the Fish Ladder will begin soon after.
