More than 500 headstones at the Mt. Carmel cemetery in Northeast Philadelphia were vandalized, continuing a string of anti-Semitic vandalism at cemeteries and Jewish community spaces across the country. Monday morning, several local Jewish Community Centers and schools had evacuated after receiving bomb threats.
Mount Carmel’s administrator hopes donations will also cover maintenance.
