Turkey Day! 8 photos of Philly folks giving people the bird

Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 1.41.55 PM

Philly’s leaders, athletes and famous folk are out and about this week distributing and, of course, posing with turkeys in anticipation of Thanksgiving. It’ll be hard to beat Mayor Michael Nutter’s closeup with a turkey mascot (see below), but hey, everyone else can try if they so choose.

Here are eight photos of Philadelphians giving the bird:

City Council President Darrell Clarke and Councilman Bill Greenlee handed out turkeys last week to seniors. LOOK HOW HAPPY SHE IS.

City councilman at-large David Oh is literally SURROUNDED BY TURKEYS.

Cops <3 turkeys!

City councilman Kenyatta Johnson looking cool AF while helping give out four hundo turkeys.

And don’t forget about the athletic Philly celebs who got in on the turkey goodness.

Eagles defensive end Taylor Hart packs up turkeys along with his teammates:

Annnnnd the Flyers, too:

The #Flyers have taken over @philarmh to cook up an early Thanksgiving feast for the families!

But no one will beat Mayor Nutter in what could possibly go down as the closeup of the year:
