Veteran Philadelphia-area digital sales and marketing expert Angela Smith is joining Billy Penn as vice president of events and sales.
“I am so excited to be joining Billy Penn,” Smith says. “I look forward to sharing our site with more Philadelphians and highlighting the great work that this team does every day.”
“We’re thrilled to have Angela joining us,” said Billy Penn CEO & founder Jim Brady. “She brings to us the experience that will allow us to continue building a business around the loyal audience we’ve already built, and a drive that makes her a natural fit on our staff. To me, today starts the next exciting phase of Billy Penn.”
Smith was most recently Senior Client Strategy Manager for the Wilmington, DE News Journal and DelawareOnline, as well as the Cherry Hill, NJ Courier Post and Courier-Post Online, developing innovative, creative and strategic solutions for advertisers throughout the Philadelphia market.
Smith’s hire reflects Billy Penn‘s growth in the news events business, following a successful launch party in February sponsored by the Knight Foundation and Visit Philadelphia; an early March event sponsored and hosted by Comcast with support from Knight; and a late March event produced with the Pew Charitable Trusts.
