Happy summer, Philadelphia! The season officially begins next week, and with it, the opening of nearly six dozen city pools.

Run by the Dept. of Parks and Recreation, the pools will open to the public at staggered dates. Things kick off on June 19 with the opening of Northeast Philly’s Lawncrest pool, and continue with rolling launches for the following 10 days. Each pool has its own schedule, with different days and times for open swim, lessons and team activities.

For some, this post will be the bearer of bad news: three of the rec center pools won’t open this year.

We already told you that the Bridesburg pool wouldn’t see the light of day this year. Same goes for the Lederer pool (a.k.a. Fishtown’s Swimmo — which was also closed last summer) and the Sayre Morris pool in Cobbs Creek.

The rest will be welcoming swimmers soon. Check the map to find pools near you, and see the list below for its opening date.

Aside from those three closures, Philadelphians across the city can expect their neighborhood pool to open back up in the coming weeks. Here’s the full list of this summer’s opening dates:
