Up close with an Action Bronson Deep Fried Spliff at Mike's BBQ

Action Bronson has played several shows in Philly over the years, but when he visited in 2014, it was strictly to chow down.

For the second-ever episode of his Vice Munchies reality show “Fuck, That’s Delicious,” the Queens-born rapper headed to the Italian Market, where now-closed hoagie house Paesano’s impressed him with its fried-egg-crowned fried lasagna sandwich and crispy chicken liver hoagie.

When the big Bronsoliño returns to Philadelphia this weekend, it’s all about the music. He’ll rock the Franklin Music Hall on Saturday, Feb. 16. Some tickets are still available for purchase — but you could also go for free.

Introducing the “Phuck, That’s Delicious” food jawnt.

From Monday through Friday, Feb. 11-15, five Philly restaurants are offering over-the-top specials inspired by Mr. Baklava. Eat your way through all of them, post pics online, and you could win a pair of tickets to the show — or a super secret grand prize.

The rapper, who recently cut ties with his record label and released his latest album independently, was once a professional chef, but his food tastes run to the outrageous. If you’re on the same tip as Action regarding recreational cannabis, these eats will be right on your level. If you just enjoy decadent snacking, they’ll be up your alley, too.

Poi Dog Philly: Typhoon Popcorn

This Hawaiian street food gem in Rittenhouse puts out dishes with more flavor than its tiny storefront would seem to be able to hold. For this particular jawnt, proprietors Kiki Aranita and Chris Vacca are pulling out a dish they typically only serve around Christmastime.

Typhoon Popcorn is essentially a snack mix, Aranita said, with the star being popcorn covered in furikake shoyu caramel. Pick up a bowl for $7 for a day’s worth of sweet-and-savory chomping.

Little Baby’s Ice Cream: The Chocolatier Bronsoliño

2311 Frankford Ave.

Considering the strange viral videos that turned their brand into an international sensation, it’s no surprise the minds behind this frozen treat operation — which was born in Kensington but now sells wares around the region — wouldn’t shy from an eccentric challenge.

In honor of the decadence-obsessed rapper, they’ve created a brand new flavor. Expect chocolate upon chocolate upon more chocolate in The Chocolatier Bronsolino, available at the same price as LBIC’s regular Philly-style scoops.

Han Dynasty: Combo No. 1

123 Chestnut St.

Anyone who knows Han Chiang knows that the proprietor of Old City’s spiciest restaurant is as much of a fan of cannabis consumption as Action Bronson himself. (Just look up his annual dinner with members of the Wu-Tang Clan.)

He created a joke dish for this tour — but it’s one people will probably wish he’d keep on the menu. Fashioned after what’s found on menus at many Americanized Chinese delivery joints, the special is a wings and fries combo. In this case, the wings are jacked up with Sichuan spice, and are served with spicy mustard and spicy ketchup on the side for $12.95. No free can of Coke to go with, sorry.

Pizza Brain: Hoagie Jawn Pizza

2313 Frankford Ave.

This slice shop inside the world’s first pizza museum never disappoints when it comes to creative topping combinations, and co-owner Joe Hunter pulled out all the stops for this Action Bronson situation.

The Hoagie Jawn starts with a white base — garlic, black pepper, mozzarella — then layers on spicy capicola, sopressata, banana peppers, roasted red peppers and spicy long hot aioli. After a bake, each pie is finished with fresh arugula and housemade balsamic vinaigrette. Slices will go for $5.75 each.

Mike’s BBQ: Deep Fried Action Bronson Spliff

1703 S. 11th St.

Recently named best BBQ in Pennsylvania, this South Philly shop does more than just great meat. That’s evidenced by this special, which you’d have to guess pitmaster Michael Strauss cooked up in a munchies-inspired state.

Housemade pork sausage is stuffed with gouda mac ‘n’ cheese, then wrapped inside a pizza dough blanket with with broccoli rabe, provolone and mozzarella. The rolled up “spliff” is deep fried to a crisp, then served with a sprinkle of parmesan and a dipping cup of marinara for $10. If Bam Bam doesn’t try this himself, he’s seriously missing out.
