How well do you keep up with what goes on in this city? That’s what we test, in the most fun way, at our monthly Billy Penn Philly Quizzo nights.
On Tuesday evening, we took over Pistolas Del Sur on East Passyunk to eat amazing nachos and discover how well our readers know Philadelphia. More than 70 people showed up to play, some of them sitting outside at the covered picnic along the sidewalk, and split into 11 groups to answer three rounds of questions — Philly Past, Philly Present and Philly Future — plus a bonus music round of Philly-connected songs.
We gave the Pistolas t-shirt prize for best team name to Gritty’s Titties (a nobrainer, although not sure we want a visual on that), but there was fierce competition for the grand prize of a $50 restaurant gift certificate. The Swiss Cheese Perverts and the No Spoilers were neck and neck the whole time, with the tie only broken by musical knowledge.
