Caring about democracy can be exhausting. Luckily, when the polls close on May 21, there are a handful of spots waiting to help you kick back while you take it all in.
You’ll want to know the results — since the primary election often dictates the eventual winners in our one-party city.
Here’s a list of where to watch the results come in on Election Day in Philadelphia.

Bottle Bar East

Time: 8 to 11 p.m.
Host: Riverwards Area Democrats
What: Hosted by a collection of Fishtown/Kensington politicos, this party promises the camaraderie of Riverwards residents, local Democratic committee people and political staffers. If you’re in the area, stop by to meet your like-minded left-of-center neighbors.
The Broadway Theatrical Club

Time: 7 p.m.
Host: Billy Ciancaglini
What: Nothing more fun than an election party when you know you’re gonna win. As the only Republican running in the mayoral primary, Ciancaglini is sure to push through to the general election. Best part: Free food plus drink specials all night.

Time: 8:30 p.m.
Host: Helen Gym
What: Food and drinks are promised at this thank-you gathering for supporters of the first-term councilwoman. Children and families are welcome, too.

What: West Philly residents, here’s a chance to find a watch party that’s local. If you’re voting for at-large candidate Almirón, you’ll find good company here on election night — plus cake.

Host: Moving Philly Forward
What: Celebrate your civic engagement with a wide selection of local brews, to be sipped in the spacious tasting room in Philly’s Callowhill neighborhood. This is your chance, organizers say, to energize before the November general election — and then the big one in 2020. (But first, you’ve gotta register.)

What: If you’re supporting the decade-plus City Hall veteran Gilmore Richardson in her bid for an at-large Council seat, this is the watch party for you.

What: If you’re a supporter of the District 4 incumbent, head over to this West Philly diner to grab a bite and watch the results come in.

What: Family, friends and supporters of this at-large candidate will show up at the healthcare union headquarters in Center City, awaiting results alongside Thomas.

Host: 215 People’s Alliance and Reclaim Philadelphia
What: Not a bar, but there will still be beer and wine on deck — plus juice, snacks and music. Now’s the time to relax, especially if you were among the volunteers canvassing for months to get out the vote.
