Turns out online trivia is really popular during a pandemic.

Our second virtual edition of Billy Penn Philly Quizzo saw more than 320 people register and 100 households join us on Zoom for a remote happy hour. Competition was fierce as we tested folks’ local knowledge in three categories: Philly Past, Philly Present, and Philly Future.

It was entirely free to play, but we were thrilled to see 36 people make optional donations to our nonprofit newsroom. (Thank you!)

Everyone who RSVP’d also got 20% off food, beer and margarita mix from Jose Pistola’s, Sancho Pistola’s or Pistolas Del Sur.

The names of the teams added to the fun, ranging from the topical (PPE the P is Silent, No Rona in Ivyland, Zoombombers) to the regional (Spruce Street Sandwiches, Fishtown Friends Connection) to the clever (Standard Deviants, Covidiot Savants).

At the finish of the regular game, we ended up with a tie. Both Thruple and Trust the Process got only one question wrong the entire time. We hit them with a bonus question — “What Native American tribe entered into an agreement with William Penn in Penn Treaty Park?” — and Thruple came through with the answer first. Congratulations to our winners.

Now it’s your turn. Without using Google, how close can you get to the high score of 23/24?

To play, pick your the answers in the “Past,” “Present” and “Future” sections below, then click “Submit” and scroll up to “View Score” to see how you did. If the form below doesn’t work for you, access it directly here.

P.S. We’re working on setting up the next virtual Philly Quizzo, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Apr. 29. Stay tuned for details; you can subscribe to our newsletter to make sure you don’t miss them.
