Showing off Philadelphia knowledge is a point of pride for many city residents. Winning a prize for doing so? Even better.

More than 100 people hopped on Zoom for the February edition of Billy Penn Philly Quizzo. Guests split into 36 teams, and followed along as cohosts Danya Henninger and Sakeenah Benjamin posed questions about this fair city.

As teams were pondering their answers — no internet searches allowed! — they listened to tunes by DJ Bounce Gawd and got a chance to meet the folks at this month’s local biz prize purveyor: Buna Cafe.

Serving Ethiopian coffee, tea, snacks, meals and comfort, Buna Cafe (say it BOO-nah) is newly open on Baltimore Avenue after years of planning. It’s a project from the former owners of West Philly’s Blue Nile, and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Buna provided two prizes: one for best team name and another for the top score.

The Broad Street Pot Holes won for best team name, walking away with a gift basket full of coffee, tea and spices. And for the second month in a row, team FirePit Pyros notched best record, winning a month’s membership to Buna, with free coffee and 10% off.

Now it’s your turn. Without using Google, can you beat their score of 23/24?

To play, pick your the answers in the “Past,” “Present” and “Future” sections below, then click “Submit” and scroll up to hit “View Score” and see how you did. (That’s where you’ll see the correct answers, too.)
