How well do you know Philadelphia history and news? That’s a game we’ve invited you to play for three years now.

This edition of Billy Penn Philly Quizzo marks 36 months since we started the monthly trivia night. Back then, it was hosted in-person during happy hour at bars around the city. Big shout out to Pistolas Restaurants, which were the first places to welcome our nerdy news nights.

We went virtual during the pandemic, for obvious reasons, which was a ton of fun when there wasn’t much else to do. We’re super excited to return to live events this summer, so stay tuned for info. Either way, we’ll always post the quiz online afterwards, so and your friends can test your Philly knowledge from anywhere in the world.

People who join us for the event get a bonus: they can win prizes! This month, more than 100 people signed onto our Zoom and split into 21 teams.

Providing the prizes was our May partner, the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. The impressive collection has more than 600,000 items, most of them stored at 13th and Locust. You can also browse many of them online.

For the best team name of the night, Young Friends of HSP offered a basket of local gift cards, which was won by the team named “My Grandparents’ Philly Accents.” For high score, the prize was a year membership to HSP (valued at $100). It was won by longtime players, The Buhs-Ins.

Now it’s your turn. Without using Google, can you beat their high score of 15/24?

To play, pick your answers in the “Past,” “Present” and “Future” sections below, then click “Submit” and scroll up to hit “View Score” and see how you did. (That’s where you’ll see the correct answers, too.)
