Gorgeous fall weather made for a perfect poolside evening during the September edition of in-person Philly Quizzo. Tucked behind the Piazza near Northern Liberties’ still-cobblestoned roads, Germantown Garden welcomed us for a night of local trivia.
Quizzo co-hosts Danya Henninger and Sakeenah Benjamin posed three rounds of questions — Philly Past, Philly Present, and Philly Future — as the players took advantage of happy hour drink and food specials (the crispy, naked chicken wings are a good bet).
Also on offer were treats from Quizzo sponsor The Rounds, a Philadelphia company that offers zero-waste refills and deliveries of everyday household essentials. Included in those “essentials” are apparently also delicious food, like pretzel shortbread cookies from Lost Bread Co., and cinnamon muffins from Merzbacher’s Bread.
The Rounds offered a sweet “Philly bundle” of goods to the team that got the top score, plus three months free delivery to anyone who signed up (quite a few people did). Stay tuned for details on our October event so you can check out the service for yourself, or visit them online.
The prize for best team name was a $25 gift card to Germantown Garden, which was taken home by BSL: Bad (at) Sports (questions) Ladies. Meanwhile, team Cheese Whiz was good at the handful of sports questions, and got the most right answers for a final tally of 19/24.
