Over the course of 2021, the monthly Billy Penn Philly Quizzo trivia night took many forms.
During the first half of the year, we held it virtually over Zoom. As vaccinations rose and the weather warmed, there were several months where were able to host outdoors at bars across the city. In November, we held our first indoor event in two years, in the vax-only space upstairs at Jose Pistola’s.
Quizzo co-hosts Danya Henninger and Sakeenah Benjamin posed three rounds of questions — Philly Past, Philly Present, and Philly Future — as players took advantage of happy hour specials like margaritas and nachos.
A dozen teams faced off in the heated competition. The grand prize was a year’s membership and free “Philly bundle” of goodies from The Rounds, which offers zero-waste refills and environmentally friendly deliveries of household essentials from granola to dishwashing liquid. It was won by a team with the impressive final tally of 21/24 correct.
