Phillies fans heading to Thursday’s home opener might notice a few changes at Citizens Bank Park.
Most obvious will be the upgraded videoboard – at 13,000 square feet, it’s now the third largest in the major leagues. Just as exciting are this season’s food options, with new concessions and local partnerships offering enough variety for a nine-inning meal.
Here’s a look at everything new in ballpark fare this spring at CBP.
All-new additions
1883 Burger Co.
Sections 109 & 207
Apparently, the Phillies are older than hamburgers, for which claims of invention fall between 1885 and 1904. Liscio-bunned offerings top the menu at 1883 Burger Co., named for the year the team was founded. The dual stands will also be serving chicken tenders, jumbo Phillies Franks, and boardwalk fries (all “fresh, never frozen”). The burger features a no-crumble ribeye-short rib patty topped with lettuce, pickles and, of course, “secret sauce.”
Uncle Charlie’s Steaks
Section 109
Another new stand named for a piece of Phillies history: Charlie Manuel, who managed the Phillies to five division titles the 2008 World Series — and still is on staff today. Aramark Executive Chef Vonnie Negron says this tribute to the local baseball icon is the result of much research, even down to the right cut of onion. The conclusion? “Diced” – along with ribeye and an abundance of Cooper sharp on a custom-made, lightly-crisp, seeded Liscio’s roll, plus a side of Herr’s kettle chips.
South Philly disco fries & Mexican street popcorn
Pass and Stow
Disco fries! Why not? It’s a baseball game; you’re not going anywhere for a while. Settle in with a mound of roast pork, melted sharp provolone, broccoli rabe, roasted red peppers and, somewhere under there, fries, all courtesy of Pass and Stow. The family-friendly stadium pub is also serving up another new item this season with its “Mexican street popcorn”, mixed with traditional esquite toppings of cotija cheese, lime, and tajin powder.
Greens & Grains
Section 125
Vegan concessions at a baseball park? Sacrilege for some, a much-requested and welcome addition for others. Greens & Grains offerings include a palm-sized seitan meat gyro pita with vegan tzatziki, tomato, onion, and lettuce (warning: not great when cold); a grilled Chk’n parm panini with melted vegan mozzarella and a marinara/cashew pesto.

A relatively incongruous, but pleasantly vivid display of natural ingredients among the ballpark eats lineup, this vegetarian dish – exclusive to premium suite ticket holders – comes with roasted baby eggplant, broccolini, and romesco.
Jerk chicken sandwich
Section 143
The first item up from Seasons Inning Stretch, Aramark’s name for a new seasonally-changing food and drink program that aims to bring an “elevated taste” to ballpark fare, according to a press release. Served on a brioche roll, this sandwich comes with pickle slaw and fried plantains.
New from old favorites
Manco & Manco new stands
Multiple locations
Boardwalk style pizza — dense cheese, firm crust, surface swirl of slightly sweet sauce — from Ocean City originators Manco & Manco is now available at three new locations around the park: Pass and Stow, Section 137, and the Miller Lite Liberty Landing.
Federal Donuts chicken tenders
Section 140
Alongside donuts and fried chicken sandwiches, this season’s menu from the CookNSolo brand offers twice-fried chicken “tenders”: heavily-breaded, thickly-cut slabs boosted by the spicy-sweet kick of the accompanying Rooster sauce.
P.J. Whelihan’s cheesesteak egg rolls
Ashburn Alley
One of the most popular items from P.J.’s restaurant locations will be making its Citizens Bank Park debut this season. No surprises, just shaved steak and melted American cheese in two golden crisp rolls, with a side of Sriracha ketchup.
Coca-Cola Corner
Replacing the ballpark’s Boardwalk Eats venue, this partnership between the Phillies, Aramark, and Coca-Cola will be showcasing a series of Philadelphia-area restaurants throughout the season by pairing one of their well-known menu items with “the perfect Coca-Cola beverage.” It supports a good cause — 5% of purchases will go to Philabundance to combat food insecurity.
