Move over, Atlantic City: Philly is getting its own city-themed Monopoly board next year, and the creators are asking the public to help pick the places that will be showcased on the board.
The City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection is joining “the World’s Playground” as one of the many places portrayed by the now-90-year-old board game, joining America’s national parks, South Park, Colo., and Middle Earth.
The game is being made by Top Trumps USA Inc., under license from Hasbro, and is scheduled to go on shelves in November 2026. It will join a long list of over 300 versions of the board game that teaches economic domination and a greater appreciation for second place in beauty contests.

The fun part? The makers are asking the public to help come up with the property squares.
“In many ways, this edition is a love letter to Philadelphia,” said Tim Barney, a Top Trumps representative. “From the small, local gems and mom-and-pops to the biggest names known around the world, we’re recruiting everyone who loves Philly to tell us who and what should be featured. We aim to make a game that folks are proud of and truly feels like home.”
The game will include customized Community Chest and Chance cards, and money. Local businesses and small nonprofits are invited to put their names forward for possible inclusion.
Philly editions of the board game have been made before, including an “authorized edition” in 1996. There have also been licensed editions for the Eagles and the Phillies.

The gamemakers say that they aim to make their selections by the end of the year, though “selections will be made as we go so everyone should nominate as early as possible to give us time to meet with as many eligible places as possible.”

Billy Penn is pretty confident that staples like the Rocky Statue, the Liberty Bell and Reading Terminal Market will be featured on the board, as they have been in previous editions. With the public nominations, Top Trumps USA hopes to also build a board that “captures the most essential elements of Philadelphia.”
“We aim to ensure that Monopoly: Philadelphia Edition is an accurate portrayal of what Philadelphia locals and tourists alike love about this charming and incredibly historic city,” Barney said.
Maybe there can be enough of a public groundswell to get some of the more obscure landmarks into the game, like Chickenman Alexander Tominsky‘s pier, or maybe even the Beury Building, complete with its infamous graffiti?
