More than 1,000 Philadelphians gathered outside City Hall on Thursday evening as part of the nationwide protests in the wake of a fatal shooting of a Minnesota woman by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent during an anti-immigration sweep.

Following the deadly shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis Wednesday morning, anti-ICE demonstrations have sprouted up across the country to demand the federal law agency is held accountable.

WHYY’s Cory Sharber reports on the speakers and marchers.

Earlier in the day, city officials and local activists — including District Attorney Larry Krasner — held a press conference decrying the violence and warning ICE that similar violence would not be tolerated in Philadelphia.
