World Cup fan fest bound for Fairmount Park’s Lemon Hill

When the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup arrives, soccer fans will have the chance to see some of the globe’s best footballing talent live at Lincoln Financial Field.

SEPTA steps up penalties for quality-of-life crimes

Beginning July 1, SEPTA will increase its enforcement of quality-of-life crimes on the transit system with a goal to make trains and buses safer, cleaner and more appealing to the riding public.

When the pandemic hit, SEPTA Police Chief Chuck Lawson said the agency changed its enforcement model, replacing stiff financial penalties and court dates with a simple $25 fine.

• Pennsylvania lawmakers have unveiled a bipartisan bill to legalize adult-use marijuana, a move that could bring in more than $1 billion in tax revenue over the next five years. [ABC27]

• A new street sign at 12th and Chestnut honors the life and legacy of Michael Hinson, a Black LGBTQ+ leader who is known as a “history maker.” [PGN]
