Last weekend, UFC president and CEO Dana White joined President Trump in Miami for UFC 314. Today, White was on the other side of the aisle, joining Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro on sports commentator Pat McAfee’s radio show to announce that the mixed martial arts promotion would be back in Philly for the first time since 2019.
“Philadelphia has always been a great fight town, and I can’t wait to return,” White said in a statement.
The UFC event is the latest high profile sports event planned to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“From UFC and March Madness to the FIFA World Cup and the NFL Draft, we’re excited to host world class sporting events that will bring with them incredible opportunities for our businesses, our communities, and our fans,” Shapiro said. “The Commonwealth is all in and we look forward to welcoming UFC back to Pennsylvania.”
Specific bouts have not yet been announced and tickets aren’t on sale yet.
Philly is not the only America 250-related event for UFC this year. Cage match fights are also planned on the White House lawn on June 14.
