Hotel workers set strike deadline ahead of World Cup

Hotel workers at several Philadelphia hotels say they are prepared to go on strike in June, potentially snarling plans for hundreds of thousands of fans expected to visit the city during the FIFA World Cup.

Mayor Parker welcomes the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour to the Palestra at UPenn. (10 a.m.)

The celebration continues as Parker joins city officials to announce the performance lineup for the city’s July 4 semiquincentennial concert and food truck festival. (1:30 p.m.)

Parker also joins the Avenue in Bloom celebration of the Avenue of the Arts corridor, this year honoring Temple University. (5:30 p.m.)

City officials also attend the “One Philly, One Future” Budget Town Hall in Southwest Philadelphia at Victory Christian Center. (6 p.m.)
