Inside El Vez, the No. 1 spot where Uber picked people up from in 2015.

Stephen Starr and Uber: Philadelphia’s new power couple?

Two of the Philadelphia restauranteur’s most popular spots top the list of the places where Uber picked up the most people in the nighttime hours over the last year. The ride sharing company released a list of the top 10 spots where its drivers — including UberX and UberBlack — picked up riders in the last year between the hours of 4 p.m. to 5 a.m. And Starr’s Mexican restaurant El Vez and German beer garden Frankford Hall were No. 1 and 2 on the list.

Uber isn’t releasing the actual figures representing the number of riders who were picked up from each location, but they did rank the top 10. Here’s a map of the locations that span from South Philly to University City to Fishtown:

Uber — which is still not fully legal here in Philadelphia — frequently touts its nighttime efforts to cut down on drunk driving. On the night before Thanksgiving, it set up a kiosk in Manayunk that use a breathalyzer to test users and offered free Uber rides in exchange.

“From El Vez to Frankford Hall to World Cafe Live, we hope Philadelphians will continue to use Uber to enjoy a night on the town,” Uber Philadelphia General Manager Jon Feldman said in a prepared statement, “and to get home safely instead of getting behind the wheel after drinking.”
