Update: 12:10 p.m.

Maybe it’s the losses of recent years? Maybe it’s just the fact that baseball is a long season? Either way, Phillies baseball tends to bring some of the funniest and strangest Twitter accounts.

Billy Penn is highlighting the best of those fan accounts, along with several people who cover the team. That way you can get the best Phillies Twitter experience this season (accounts are listed in alphabetical order, tweet us @billy_penn if you think there’s a glaring omission).

Gelb has returned as the Phillies beat writer for the Philadelphia Media Network (what they’re calling the Inquirer‘s parent company these days) this season after some time covering news. He does a better job than the average beat writer of adding humor and giving fans a glimpse of what happens at the games or in the locker room they might not see on TV or read online.

The man behind Zoo With Roy started the blog after the Phillies acquired Roy Halladay in a trade in 2009. His stated goal was to go to the zoo with Halladay. Hundreds of posts and hilarious tweets later, he finally did in 2014. Meeting his goal didn’t end the account, though. His insight the last few years have at least help make the frustrating Phillies hilarious.
