What happens when more than 130 people who love Philadelphia come together online to test the depths of their local knowledge? Lots of fun, as proven at Billy Penn’s fourth virtual Philly Quizzo.
Attendees split into more than 40 different teams to answer three rounds of questions focused on Philly in the past, present and future.
In between the trivia, new alt-rock band Murdoch, whose first single is now on iTunes, played songs and chatted about their history in the industry. We’re looking for other musicians to highlight at these events going forward, so if that’s you, or you know someone, get in touch.
Want to join the live game? Our next happy hour is set for Wednesday, May 27. It’s totally free to register and play — do that here. If you chose to make the optional $5 donation, or are already a BP member, you’ll be entered to win a custom hanging canvas print by local artist Mark Henninger.
Aldo, the high score will win a $50 gift card to Founding Fathers, a tavern and restaurant on South Street West. Everyone who registers will receive a code for 15% off your pickup order of snacks + pizza + adult beverages — and orders over $30 receive a free flip-top growler ($20 retail value, does not include beer).
This edition of the quiz wasn’t easy, but team “Iskabibble’s Stans” made it look that way, with a winning score of 23/24. The average score of all our teams this time was 15/24.
Now it’s your turn. Without using Google, can you beat them?
