City Democratic party officials are considering removing Rev. Lewis Nash, citing offensive remarks he was recorded making about gay people and gender reassignment surgery. Party chairman Bob Brady condemned the comments as “totally disgraceful.”

Councilmember O’Rourke delivers national SOTU response

Nicolas O’Rourke introduced himself to a national audience Thursday night as he delivered the Working Families Party’s official response to President Biden’s State of the Union address. He said the WFP had a message for Biden: “Together we built a record of delivering resources and opportunities for working people and communities. But, that work is not only unfinished. It is imperiled.”

Future for Greensgrow Farms could mirror its past

For two and half decades Greensgrow Farms ran a host of activities on the lot: the staff grew and sold herbs, produce, and garden plants, cared for a pet pig, chickens, and turtles, and sold gardening supplies. After closing in 2022, plans are afoot to resurrect the facility with a lot of hard work. 

Chibanos pop-up lands with Chinese-Cuban flavors at Solar Myth

The family recipe-inspired menu returns to the South Philly venue for a final two-day run starting this Saturday. Chibanos is a culinary concept creator Evan Fong Jaroff says is  a culinary “concept that’s been stuck in my mind” for over a decade. It was realized in late February, with a series of pop-ups at coffee shop-bar-live music venue Solar Myth at 1131 S. Broad St., that ends Sunday evening.
