Old City parking garage floated by city as “pilot” bus terminal

The saga of the city’s wandering bus terminal for Greyhound, Megabus and other intercity carriers continues, with the latest proposal being to relocate to a Philadelphia Parking Authority garage on 2nd Street near Walnut Street in Old City.

City officials want to use the AutoPark at Olde City as a “pilot” terminal while they hire a firm to study options for a permanent location, according to City Councilmember Mark Squilla, who said he was briefed on the proposal Monday. MAYOR WATCH

At 10 a.m., Mayor Parker will speak about the state of education at the bi-annual meeting with the School District of Philadelphia and City Council.

At noon, Parker will join the Philadelphia Energy Authority and Energix at City Hall to celebrate the completion of the Adams Solar Project, a 70-megawatt solar facility that now powers about 25% of the electrical needs for the city’s municipal buildings.
